F1 2011 – getting close!

Mark Webber's crash at Valencia 2010

As a rule I don’t follow a lot of sport. Football puts me in a coma and Cricket, it appears, is full of money grubbing cheats. But there is one sport I do follow – and that it’s a sport has been long debated as the average ‘Joe’ doesn’t have a bat in hells chance of competing – is Formula 1.

The 2010 season was riveting (with the drivers championship decided in the very last race) and 2011 is going to be even better. And, dare I say it, more exciting!

It can’t fail to be exciting: what with 20 races (one more than last season), moveable wings, a new tyre supplier (Pirelli) and the re-introduction of KERS.

As I write the only downside is that one of the great protagonists, Robert Kubica, has unfortunately been involved in a really bad car crash and isn’t going to be driving until he’s better. Get better soon, Robert!
